Regulating Foreign-Licensed Practice for Access to Care and Protection of the Public
Session Description:
The emergent adoption of teletherapy as a care delivery medium in the context of COVID-19 resulted in the emergency creation, expansion, and utilization of temporary practice provisions and extensive cross-jurisdictional practice. As long-term rules and regulations governing foreign-licensed practitioners are considered and established, this session will examine what needs should be served, what concerns and risks should be addressed and mitigated, and what are viable options for providing for access to care while fulfilling the mandate to protect the public.
